Summary:

Collegiate couple Grace Andrews (Sophia Bush) and Jim Halsey (Zachary Knighton) hit the road in a 1970 Oldsmobile 442, en route to spring break , but their pleasure trip soon turns into a waking nightmare after encountering the mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder, a.k.a. The Hitcher (Sean Bean). The initial encounters with Ryder are increasingly off-putting for Grace and Jim, and they bravely fight back when he ambushes them. But they are truly blindsided when he implicates them in a horrific slaying and continues to shadow them. The open road becomes a battleground of blood and metal as, in trying to elude not only Ryder but also New Mexico State Police Lieutenant Esteridge's (Neal McDonough) officers, Grace and Jim must fight for their lives and face their fears head-on.

This perverse, blood-drenched horror film from France stars Emmanuelle Escourrou as Yanka, a young pregnant woman whose lamentable existence as a circus employee is made a bit more harrowing when a slimy parasite leaps from the body of one of the zoo's leopards and enters her womb. Possessed of an evil intelligence and cranky disposition, the organism transforms her fetus into a snarling little jerk of a monster with a curious interest in human nature and an insatiable thirst for blood. Drifting from town to town, Yanka supplies the unborn creature with new victims, all the while conversing with the chatty little monster (making for some of the weirdest dialogue scenes in film history) and heeding its instructions to carry it back to the sea which spawned it... it seems the creature is some sort of intelligent mutant form of sea sludge, born of industrial pollutants and whatnot. Pretty disgusting stuff, but gorehounds with a wry sense of humor will probably lap it up.

A solar flare hits earth and unleashes a snake-like creature made of fire. Clopin bought Esmeralda from the gypsies when she was young. Dancing in the square at the festival, Esmeralda is spotted by Jehan, the evil brother of the good archdeacon Claude Frollo. When he sets Quasimodo out to kidnap Esmeralda, Phoebus, Captain of the Guards, rescues her and captures Quasimodo. The courts sentence Quasimodo to be flogged, and the only one who will give him water while he is tied in the square is Esmeralda. After Clopin forces Esmeralda to leave Phoebus at the ball, she sends a note to Phoebus to meet her at Notre-Dame. In the garden, Phoebus is stabbed in the back by Jehan. Esmeralda is accused of stabbing Phoebus, convicted by the courts and sentenced to hang. When Esmeralda again rejects Jehan, he tells her that Phoebus is dead, even though it is not true. Clopin, Phoebus and Quasimodo all try different ways to save Esmeralda.
